With over 1,300 products and 50 different friction lining recipes, the HELLA PAGID brake pad product line covers almost all vehicles sold in Europe. And in guaranteed top quality as we develop all of the brake pads ourselves and manufacture them in European factories only.
All products must prove that they are ready to be sold on the market by successfully undergoing a 180,000 mile endurance test run in the research and development center. One other aspect that is typical of HELLA PAGID is that all products are coordinated specifically for certain vehicle types,
brake systems, engine outputs, driving loads and braking characteristics. It goes without saying that this could not be done without engaging in ongoing collaboration with the automotive industry.
THE PERFECT FRICTION SURFACE
1. FRICTION MATERIAL
The friction material has to fulfill extremely demanding tasks and therefore needs to be precisely tailored to the relevant area of use. The competitive advantage here is provided by the 110 different formulations mentioned above.
2. INTERMEDIATE LAYER
The intermediate layer possesses almost universal properties. It improves hardness, crack resistance and the comfort-related properties of the brake pads and also reduces heat transfer, ensures a high degree of shear protection and even optimizes noise behavior.
The specially developed adhesive permanently connects the lining material to the carrier plate and also guarantees particularly high shear resistance.
4. BACKING PLATE
Each brake system requires different specifications to perform at peak. Hella Pagid does not follow a one size fits all approach like other brake companies. We follow the tightest tolerances and consider the steel grade for each application to provide the best possible product to the market. This is required for a trouble free long life brake pads.
5. POWDER COATING
The final touch for our brakes is the powder coating. It gives the finished product a spotless finish as well as reliable corrosion protection.
6. FINISHING TOUCHES
When needed pads are machined with a chamfer, attenuation plates added to the backing plate, and slots machined into the friction material. All combine to provide smooth quite operation under the most demanding conditions.
